#22 Of a new year and rollercoaster emotions
“The writers I love most are almost always on a mission. To save the world one sentence at a time. To redeem us and rescue back our righteous minds." - Julian Aguon
Brave reader,
2025! I still can’t believe that a new year has begun and we’re already halfway through the first month. There’s so much happening and so little time. But the chaos around me inspired these words -
“𝘺𝘶𝘢𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘯: 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘦 // 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘺 𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 //
the daylight was fading fast,
the photographer behind us, wanting to shoot the final pictures of the day,
and the waves crashing against our feet distracting our attention, and us laughing,
a moment that is tucked away in some hidden corner of the heart,
a bit later, as quiet descended over the car, I noticed time and again how comforting this silence is,
with you, despite you and our penchant to discuss even the most mundane things,
I've seen the world root for us,
the moon on the nights we survived long distance, the sea breeze on the days we felt lost,
chills on the days we wanted to feel lazy together and rains on the day I miss you,
because even when everything turns blurry, you will always be in focus.”
Recommendations Corner
The new season for Shrinking is out! This heartfelt comedy-drama follows Jimmy (Jason Segel), a grieving therapist who starts giving unfiltered advice to his clients—with chaotic and surprising results. Harrison Ford shines as his no-nonsense mentor, alongside the brilliant Jessica Williams. Perfect for anyone who loves humor with a side of heart, it’s a must-watch for Ted Lasso fans!
Until next time :)
Wishing you a great beginning of a new year and lasting love,
Yashika
