#24 Of going back home and sheltering in a pair of arms
“It’s important to take care of yourself so you can better take care of the world.” - Julia Turshen
Gentle reader,
This month, I am falling more in love, with myself and with the person who makes me feel this special. I wrote this poem to remember that feeling -
“did you reach home equals I love you” -
'did you reach home?', you had typed,
the drowning sun lit up the screen brightly,
like you do, for me,
I read somewhere that when someone asks - did you reach safely,
they mean that they love you,
most of the love we have is not in words though,
it's in the gestures,
gestures like - feed you while you're applying henna, bring you to the other side of traffic while crossing the road, watch mushy shows with you,
love you despite who you are, who you think you are,
lately, I find myself making up dreams in my head, walking through all of them as if real,
a recurring one among others,
we're together, learning and unlearning,
love is such a simple concept yet so rare to find.
Recommendations Corner
Last week, I finished watching The Residence on Netflix. From the brilliant mind of Shonda Rhimes (the genius behind Bridgerton and Scandal), this show promises scandal, secrets, and a whole lot of drama.
Until next time :)
Wishing you good snacks and a healthy month,
Yashika
